Club History

RYAN F.C. was formed in season 1994/95, and were originally known as Beaumont F.C. In their first season they joined the Ilford and District League and were placed in division 4.

After one season, the club won promotion, and Richard Williams then decided to take complete control of the club and decided to re-name the club RYAN after his new born son.

In the season 1995/96 the club finished runners-up in Division 3 but won the cup finals. In season 1996/97 the club was promoted to Division 1 and again finished runners-up winning promotion to the Premier.

The season 1997/98 was more of a rebuilding season as Ryan reserves was formed and got to their Divisional cup final losing 2-1, and the first team finished fifth in the Premier.

1998/99 season was the year the club reached new heights. RYAN F.C. after losing their first game of the season then went on an amazing eighteen game unbeaten run. There was constant coverage in the local papers, Scouts coming down from top semi-pro clubs and even LEYTON ORIENT were showing an interest, which suddenly turned this small club in Chingford into something special. Players who had done it at a higher level and some who still are, all wanted to play for RYAN F.C.

At the end of the season we had won everything. The Romford Charity Cup, The East Ham Memorial Cup, The Premier Division but most of all we won the biggest one of them all at this level The 'ESSEX COUNTY CUP' consisting of 186 sides.

Season 2002/03 we formed two more new men sides called Ryan 'A' and Ryan 'B' . We have also started an under 8's side who play in the ELE League on Sunday mornings under the name of Ryan Youth.

2003/04 RYAN F.C. have grown with the inclusion of Wanstead Town and Dalima who have both come under the RYAN F.C. banner. With the inclusion of Wanstead Town, RYAN F.C. have manage to attain Intermediate status and will start the season with six senior sides. We are also running three youth sides this season, under 8's 9's 10's, and have also started our own soccer school to keep the future bright for RYAN FOOTBALL CLUB.

2004/05 and the club is now getting not only bigger and stronger, Ryan F.C. are now becoming one of the biggest clubs in Waltham Forest. We are now venturing into two new leagues - the Rural Friendly and the Cheshunt league.

2005/06: After a successful season last year the Ryan teams excelled themselves yet again by winning numerous summer tournaments which they entered. Also the club held their own summer tournament for the first time and this was a huge success with over one hundred teams competing from all leagues.

Ryan F.C. have also started a Mens Sunday team and they play in the London City Airport League and the under 10's and 11's have joined the Waltham Forest Sunday League. Ryan F.C. go into this 2005/06 season with seventeen teams competing on Saturdays and Sundays.

2006/07: Ryan FC are now getting strong links with numerious academy's with players either getting contracts or training in their development centres. Our Summer tournament which was held in June at Town Mead was a huge success and over 200 teams took part from all different leagues, which made the competition not only one of the biggest but most competitive tournament this Summer.

Also Ryan 1st team started playing their home games at Town Mead.

2008/09 Ryan FC have now progressed further, as they have now been excepted to play in the pretigeous Eastern Junior Alliance League.

Ryan FC under 14's will be representing the club this year and will competing against other clubs from the Senior Leagues.

This was also the season Ryan Vets was formed, under the guidence of 'Johnny Larkin' and they will be competing in The Essex Veterans League.

On a special note, the club also had nine signed players go to Academies this year and would like to wish all the boys the best.

2009/10 We are now going into the season with Twenty Eight teams and the club is also entering a new league called the West Essex and Herts League in which our under 14's Red will be competing in. We have also applied to become a Charter Standard Club and hopefully be excepted by the start of the new season.

2010/11 The season Ryan FC GIRLS were formed and playing as under 10s they finished runners-up to West Ham girls in the Essex Girls League. We also had one of our old youth players Lyle Della-Verde play for Southend Utd Reserves and also be sub for the 1st team three times at the age of 15. As I write this article Lyle has been signed for Fulham FC at 16 for a six figure sum and will get his pro contract at the age of 17. We have also got Scholars at Watford and Leyton Orient and I‘m really proud of these boys who I have seen grow up into men.
Also we had our first youth team win a county cup this season. Steve Parrott‘s under 10s Red won the London Cup.
As a club we are now being represented by over Thirty teams and are looking to venture more into becoming a development club.
